My college Arabic professor was a Syrian Christian. He left Syria and went to Sweden where he met his wife. After attending the Syrian Christian church, he was shocked by the starkness of the Swedish Lutheran churches. She agreed to go with him to the US where he had a long academic career if they would return to Sweden when he retired, which they did. He died suddenly when they were taking a walk in a park there.
