Had we not overthrown the democratically elected secular president of Iran in 1953, and not installed a brutal dictator like the Shah, who was more brutal than Ayatollahs and never had an election, Iran would not be an Islamic State today.
Now isn't that strange because when you speak to the Iranians in the U.S. they all seem to have nothing bad to say about the Shah, but only good things. They older ones say they miss their lives that they had in Iran under the Shah and would like to go back to that time. but with the crazies in charge right now they never would.
