The US has been sliding in that direction for awhile. That is why it is so refreshing to see an attempt to bring manufacturing back. An economy can't survive if the workforce is just "burger flippers for burger flippers."

So the likes of China, Vietnam, India etc.. will always manufacture and the UK and US won't. It's a galant afford by Trump, but those days are gone.
