The currect popular AI (Gemini Copilot etc.) - are all very carefully controlled and proven over and over and over to give bad information, missing information and even spun information.
Right now - it is like trusting CNN or Fox News to give you the truth.

And BTW - let's not forget the first rounds of AI of all the social media engines.
They have TREMENDOUSLY had extremely negative effects on our youth. From radicalizing them, making them depressed and hating themselves.
These engines only had one goal - get you to look at the site as much as possible. It worked very -very well. And poisoning minds all along the way.

And I’ll add that if you’re copying and pasting talking points or topics that you had AI generate for you, they aren’t your points at all.

Remember the encyclopedia-on-a disc Encarta back in the 90s? I remember kids would literally just print out the entry for, say, World War I and try to hand in the print-out as an “essay” on the topic.

Using AI to generate content is basically just an updated version of that.

It’s actually kind of pathetic and childish when you think about it

There might be some really good uses for AI.

Why not let it run the government, rather than the criminals who run and control it now? How could it be worse?

It's a sign of the times. AI instantly sums up the internet to your question. We live in a world where everything wins if it's instant. So rather than type it all out, either copy and paste it, or screenshot and post it. I don't have any issues with it, it has its place.

Even more than that, most AI (chat bots,) actually converse like a real person does. The biggest difference is, AI doesn't go into emotional personal attacks and platitudes (especially when told not to) and AI will support its comments with multiple sources. Which any reader can use for verification.

It's a tool but it's only as good and useful as the person who is using it.
