Austin Fire Chief in trouble.

Something about the weather and thought they needed to be there for that town. He is reported even saying no to send help there a day before the flood.
The association’s president, Bob Nicks, claimed the state requested assistance from the Austin Fire Department (AFD) special operations teams more than a day before floodwaters rushed from the Guadalupe River early July 4.

The Guadalupe and Colorado aren't even in the same watershed until well east of Austin, if then. The Chief is just an asshole Democrat appointee 'Resisting n stuff' like a good little house boy, giving Abbot the finger. These vermin are already butthurt because they're rescuing white people.

But he is only a yes man for that city anyway. Not allowing firefighter rescue crews to assist in the flood.

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin Fire Chief Joel G. Baker has been accused of denying the deployment of Austin firefighters to help in Kerrville following the recent devastating flooding.

The Austin Firefighters Association posted about Baker on their Facebook page, calling it "absolutely outrageous" and an "egregious dereliction of duty" and calling for Baker to be held accountable.

Swiss technological marvel: Is this the world's smallest hearing aid?
More politics. What is wrong with this country?

Funny how they try and make a scapegoat, but don't talk about who was responsible for there not being a system in place to stop people dying in the first place.
1. They sent units per interdepertment agreements. Article is wrong.
2. Initially they were busy with rescues in Travis and Williamson counties, which were also hit hard with at least ten dead.

People die in floods all the time. Some floods are worse than others.

The state announced last night/this morning that they were putting in a siren alarm system for the river. Finally.

It will be another 40-50 years before they find out. The one they're putting in now will be long gone by then.
I'd submit 10 years. The problem of course is these don't happen in the same place every time.

You mean like the 'system' i.e. laws that are in place to keep murderous thugs from entering our country causing hundreds of thousands to die from fentanyl overdoses, and our young women to be brutally raped and killed? The 'system' that you're only too willing to ignore?

There will be now. It is normal human behavior to become complacent until there is a tragedy. People become convinced that tornadoes don't come through their area because it just never happens. . . until it does happen. That area of Texas is very prone to heavy rains and flash flooding, and the Guadalupe River has been out of its banks countless times. But it has never come up even close to the campground cabins and it is instinctual for people to think it just never will. Until it does.

This tragedy will likely never happen again because now authorities will know that it can happen and will ensure that people are evacuated instead of just issuing another of many many warnings which they did.

Joel (the Hack) G. Baker is a 'yes' man, nothing more.
I didn't see any San Antonio fire fighters out there either. Just I suppose they aren't fussing to the press about not getting to help. Donald Trump will likely fly into San Antonio Friday to visit the flood area. Let's see what kind of reception San Antonio gives him.

It's a dem area, so who knows?

If they had no warning from the NWS on the predicited rainfall why were they deploying two days prior?

"Deployment orders came down from the State of Texas on July 2. We would've been pre-deployed before the waters even began to rise!"

You know that is bullshit because the day before they had no idea that flood was going to happen. Got a link to that claim? I am betting no.

Zinc, I have to give you credit! Your posts the last few days have been dead on target!

See! I didn't call you Sink Worrier this time! You are doing a great job!

San Antonio got hit by floods itself just a couple of weeks earlier. Several killed there,
