Victor Hugo's Les Misérables, Charles Dicken's A Tale of Two Cities, and Alexander Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo are my very favorite novels. They are all historic novels of faith and redemption, the triumph of good over evil in the face of grave injustice, loss, poignancy, crushing pain and suffering. Invariably, all three works come to the forefront of my mind whenever I regard any one of the others.
Claude-Michel's musical production of Les Misérables is worthy of the novel, and who can deny that "Bring Him Home" is the most beautiful song of its brilliant score?
