As an IT professional, I find it amusing whenever a politician or someone in front of a camera starts talking about saving or losing emails, ala Lois Lerner, who claimed facetiously that she lost a whole bunch of IRS emails. Here's why it's ludicrous:

1. No IT guy lost his job because he didn't have a backup and didn't warn anyone that they were missing. That's DBA 101, always make sure backups are running and you can recover from them.
2. Anyone who believes any electronic government communication goes untracked and unarchived by various government agencies is on something and they're not sharing.

No, Nancy can try to delete her official emails, but it would do no more good than clearing your deleted folder in Outlook.
