'We have been inundated for several years by the "I'm-offended-so-we-must-ban-it" chorus' plaintive wailing about the insensitivity, no the downright meanness, of having to endure the pain inflicted by having to hear the mere mention of the Washington Redskins. Most of the crying typically came from non-Native Americans who saw themselves as their protector class, which when you think about it, is more offensive than their feigned offense.

The feds of course got involved and a federal judge even ordered the team stripped of its trademark in July. The NFL team has appealed that ruling.

But, now, with the release of the poll last week by the Washington Post, hardly a bastion of conservatism, those thin arguments have been shown to be based on false emotion more than fact, which hardly should come as a surprise...'
