Repubicans are not Pro Life. Women are dying because fundamentalist nutjobs are denying women access to life saving care. Here is an example.

Abortion Bans Have Delayed Emergency Medical Care. In Georgia, Experts Say This Mother’s Death Was Preventable.

In her final hours, Amber Nicole Thurman suffered from a grave infection that her suburban Atlanta hospital was well-equipped to treat.

She’d taken abortion pills and encountered a rare complication; she had not expelled all of the fetal tissue from her body. She showed up at Piedmont Henry Hospital in need of a routine procedure to clear it from her uterus, called a dilation and curettage, or D&C.

But just that summer, her state had made performing the procedure a felony, with few exceptions. Any doctor who violated the new Georgia law could be prosecuted and face up to a decade in prison.

Thurman waited in pain in a hospital bed, worried about what would happen to her 6-year-old son, as doctors monitored her infection spreading, her blood pressure sinking and her organs beginning to fail.

It took 20 hours for doctors to finally operate. By then, it was too late.

This is what Trump has done. This is a result of his supreme court. They tell us they are pro life, but we see a gravestone here that did not have to be made because of people who claim to be pro life.

Umm, this woman took abortion pills and killed her own baby, and it also killed her.

Actually a common thing with “the pill”.

Good evidence that the pill should be banned as well, and more lives would be saved.

The same thing happened to my neighbor. My neighbor robbed this guy and shot him. But one of the bullets ricocheted and hit my neighbor, expelling him from this earth

Can you imagine that? The nerve of that wall!

This is straight ignorance and untrue..

That is the price you pay for living in a red state. I never thought about it when I left SC (or Texas for that matter). But yeah...if you are female and live in a red state, this can very well happen to you.

Oh look, abortion woke up another on how widespread medical malpractice is

Because this was medical malpractice, not an abortion law

There are no abortion prohibitions in Georgia (or any state) to save the life of the mother, so something else must be going on.
The laws are not clear...doctors are afraid and hesitate, getting their lawyers involved on what they can and can not do....or be jailed or fined or lose their licence....

The problem lies in the law...and it's lack of clarity....and doctor's fear of losing everything they've worked very hard for.....

It is clear when the issue is an abortion is done when the mother's life is in danger. None of the 50 states prohibit that.

Good catch. Even if there was such a prohibition, the Georgia doctors were not participating in an abortion. The procedure had been instigated by Thurman days earlier.

Nothing the doctors would have done could be considered an abortion according to the statute.

I agree with you. Something else was going on here.

Don't forget the Pro Publica is a far left journalist organizations. Even the so-called "fact checkers" rate them as left leaning.

Yet this keeps happening...to hundreds of women with pregnancy problems by now, if not a thousand, where they could not get the medical care they needed in a timely and more humane manner.... There are lawsuits piling up on cases of pregnant women with problems made to suffer, before the hospitals could or would, give them the medical care they needed.

The laws are NOT CLEAR....this is why doctors are hesitating to give these women the medical care they need when they needed it...

If it were clear, the Doctors would not need their lawyers involved.

You're talking in generalities, including many conditions besides abortion. Address this case. There is no statute currently that prohibits abortion to save the mother's life. That was the case here, so something else was going on.

There may be no statute to prevent it in the eyes of the legislators writing the law, but in the eyes of the physician's lawyers, there is ambiguity.

Please, for the love of God, do your own research and read and listen to, the words and testimony if the women with complications in their pregnancy... YOU are making them WAIT until doctors can be certain they will die...this causes problem and makes the pregnant woman suffer, first... Putting her in harms way of other things, like making her sterile....and not able to have another child....

Google it.

Had she not killed the life of her son, she may still be living.

Looks like Georgias governor and legislature has more blood on its hands.
