Actually there IS some truth in it.
A wise old aboriginal-type, some 40+ years ago shared his tribal wisdom with me after I did a small project as a favor for his family:
He wanted to pay me.
I declined.
He was uncomfortable.
I knew I had to accept something.
He tried again: White guy, you must learn say: "Enough".
He kept going: When you got all fish can eat you say: "Enough".
Long pause.
When you got warm, dry place live you say "Enough"
When other guy say you need more you say "**** Off".
But then you must learn to MEAN "**** Off".
20 years of comfortable retirement proved him right.
