This looks like a pretty well planned assassination. The killer knew scaly l exactly where Charlie would be and where he needed to be to get a clean shot. He even had an exit plan and got away, for now at least.

Usually these types of nutjob killers don't think that far ahead, or if they do it's a deranged half ass plan.

I wouldn't be surprised if the gun is completely untraceable and was deliberately abandoned. Leave the gun, take the canolli.

Otoh, the entire federal and Utah law enforcement agencies are focused on catching this guy and they have video. I hope they find him soon.

That the police were misdirected from the real shooter by the 1st guy detained screams hit squad.
Yet the shooter got caught on camera. This could be wrapped up soon unless the shooter is found dead.
I'd still look for other members of the hit squad, just in case.

How did he get access to that roof? Why weren't drones used by Charlie's security team?

The fact that there were distractions by the 1st guy the police had tells me there were more people involved than the just shooter.

Mauser rifles do not come in imperial measurements.

The "tip" is likely phoney.

I thought they only came in 7.62 or something like that.

They were German made, confiscated and ended up in civilians hands after the War...

Our soldiers used 30-06. Ammunition swapping is not usually the case in wartime.
I dunno....
