No not at all. Facts are good things if presented appropriately. A socialist wrote "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Not very far from what we should consider freedom today unless you're a complete idiot. But where does socialism come into that phrase? Liberty and justice isn't prefaced as getting a free living. It has nothing to do with welfare or even making those evil people with money your enemy. Liberty and justice for all, not liberty and justice at someone else's expense. Not equal results. Liberty and justice for all. Isn't that all a person needs? Equal opportunity and equal under the law. I think your socialist missed his mark here. He may have meant to promote a socialist agenda but in the end provided a very good capitalist point. If you have liberty and justice as an individual you don't need socialism. If you think your liberty and justice has to come at another's expense then you probably do need socialism to cover for your short comings.

The Pledge of Allegiance doesn't pay homage to the writer, it pays homage to our country and flag.

The modern day socialists stopped children from reciting it in school because they don't like our country, our flag or the fact that the pledge has the word, "God", in it. I guess you didn't know that. Apparently, you've been out of school so long, you forgot how to spell it.
