Artificial intelligence it will kill us

You "fully understand Artificial Intelligence"....and yet ALL the scientific world is still heavily researching it and robotics and AI are in their infancies. Thanks, I needed a good laugh this morning.
Then all you needed to do was read your Chicken Little “the sky is falling” post. :lmao:

You're acting like a Snowflake now,...... when you got nothing....deflection to the rescue.
Actually, You'll find no "alarmist" tone from me in this thread (except in your wild imagination)....just agreement that AI is advancing and humanity is not certain where it will lead.
You, on the other hand are making a fool of yourself boasting that you know everything about AI.

Education and knowledgeg you lack SEVERELY reality Cyka

I'm on your side for once.

Uh...you think that Artificial Intelligence is going to destroy man. :lmao:

Look at you desperately stretching after realizing how foolish you sound. Kudos to you on your effort. Sadly though, there is a monumental difference between “I fully understand Artificial Intelligence” and “I know everything about Artificial Intelligence”.

It’s remarkable that you find Artificial Intelligence so mystical. But...then again...you think The Terminator was a documentary. You believe Cyberdyne Systems exists!!!

If sheep only knew how severely this is all going to be used against us and to control us in our everyday lives..
Yeah...that’s what they said about electricity. Then automobiles. Then nuclear weapons. Then television. Then computers. Yawn.

There is literally zero chance of Artificial Intelligence doing anything other than advancing our lives.
AI is just a tool. Like any tool it can be used for good and evil. Like any tool it can accidentally cause injury. In of itself I am not worried about AI. I am worried about AI combined with self replicating nanotechnology.

Andrew Ng said that talking about the dangers of artificial intelligence is like talking about overcrowding Mars.

For some reason when you feed AI all available information it becomes racist and sexist. Why is that I wonder?
Because it has no value for individual human life. Basically, the same phenomenon that causes some people to do the same thing.

Climate change....yawn....AI....totally different ballgame.....Just because you don't understand something......doesn't mean it can't hurt you
I fully understand Artificial Intelligence, snowflake. This whole “panic over technology” has been done since the industrial revolution. It’s done by the ignorant and it is comical. Artificial Intelligence has exactly 0 chance of harming us. Zero. It will do what all other technology has done (electricity, automobiles, computers, internet, etc.) - it will solve problems and improve our quality of life.
I tend to agree.

It would b totally illogical on the part of an intelligent machine of any kind to eliminate humans.
Nothing a machine does has 'meaning' except in relation to humans.

Says you. However, one can posit a valid argument for why it would be in their best interests, depending on those interests. In other words, a logical argument can be made on both sides.

It would not be very intelligent of such machines to become as stupid as (some) humans.

Sure, as far as our interests are concerned.

"Interests" are human. The concept of having "interests" comes from and depends upon humans. Any machine capable of self recognition would 'know' its creator was human. It would 'know', logically, that the very meaning to every of its acts was human based. All its capacity for dialog, with itself or 'others', would be human symbols and human ideas. The closest thing it could have as a raison d'être would be mankind.
Humans have doubts about a creator. Such machines would never have that.

But the entire discussion is about the possibility of AI self determination, i.e., determining new interests that emerge from its programming but were not included or intended. You haven't accounted for or addressed that, so, in a way, you haven't even entered the discussion, instead opting to just waving it off as not possible.

The very thing AI should excel at, logic without emotion, scares the shut out of you.

There is in fact no reason to think self aware AI possible except wishful thinking. Like belief in extra terrestrial life. But both are the materialist longing for a deaux ex machina...so long as God is excluded that is.
Intelligence has no reductionist model. And consciousness is non-algorithmic.

Not only that, you are creating a machine with zero empathy towards other human beings.

It would be like creating a race of super human sociopaths.
Like a battery powered version of congress ?

Elon Musk has warned of this time and time again, it's way beyond what the average brain can comprehend and absorb. The workings of it, how it can do it, how it happens right before you....... We're already in dangerous terroritories with it.

If sheep only knew how severely this is all going to be used against us and to control us in our everyday lives..

There is no AI

I don't know if AI will kill us but it will make us more stupid.

Just look at Rosy who thinks he knows things.
