The threat to eliminate the Iranian civilization by bombing electrical grids, bridges, and other infrastructure violates the Geneva Convention.

Specifically Article 51.

Article 51 of the Geneva Convention provides essential protections for civilians during armed conflict, prohibiting attacks on civilian populations and ensuring their safety.

Text

Article 51 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states that:
  1. General Protection: The civilian population and individual civilians shall enjoy general protection against dangers arising from military operations.
  2. Prohibition of Attacks: The civilian population as such, as well as individual civilians, shall not be the object of attack. Acts or threats of violence aimed at spreading terror among the civilian population are prohibited.
  3. Protection During Hostilities: Civilians shall enjoy the protection afforded by this Article unless and for such time as they take a direct part in hostilities.
  4. Indiscriminate Attacks: Indiscriminate attacks are prohibited. This includes attacks that may be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life or damage to civilian objects that would be excessive in relation to the anticipated military advantage.
  5. Reprisals Against Civilians: Attacks against the civilian population or civilians by way of reprisals are prohibited.
  6. Use of Civilians to Shield Military Objectives: The presence or movements of the civilian population shall not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.

Implications

Article 51 emphasizes the importance of protecting civilians during armed conflicts and establishes clear prohibitions against targeting non-combatants. It aims to ensure that military operations are conducted in a manner that minimizes harm to civilians and civilian infrastructure. Violations of these protections can lead to serious consequences under international humanitarian law, including potential war crimes charges.

This article is part of a broader framework of international humanitarian law designed to safeguard human rights during times of war and conflict, reflecting the commitment of the international community to uphold the dignity and safety of all individuals, regardless of their status in a conflict.

Trump loves him some strongmen and he wants to be one, too.

He's jealous Putin gets to commit war crimes and wants to join the club.

What about when the iranian occult guard gunned down and murdered over 70,000 citizens in the streets?
You number is a total fabrication.

Why aren't you concerned about the deliberate murders of Ukrainian women and children by Trump's hero Putin?

Why aren't we bombing Russia?

Geneva Convention covers war between countries not police actions against their own people

The only punishment we could receive from this is from our own government. We are not bound by the ICC.

So is removing a democratically elected government and installing a leader who rules as an autocrat, oppressing his people, causing a revolution as we did in Iran. So GFY, you no good American-hating right-wing bigoted piece of trash.

Pretty sure raping Ukrainian children by Putin's military violates the Geneva Conventions.

Pretty sure deliberately targeting the homes of civilians violates the Geneva Conventions.

Pretty sure mass executions of captured Ukrainian civilians violates the Geneva Conventions.

Why aren't we bombing Russia?

Hell, why hasn't Trump said one single f@cking word critical of Putin EVER?!?

You know why. Deep in your soul, you know why.

Taking out electricity to limit an enemies ability to produce more weapons and bridges to prevent a military from resupplying are legitimate military targets. Iran intentionally targets civilians in other countries and uses them as shields in their own, yet I don't see you criticizing them. Perhaps you should get your priorities in order.

The whole war in Iran is a deflection
You truly are a moron. :itsok: It's only been a major issue for presidents since Carter dumb ass. Christ we seriously need to find some smarter Dems to debate with, this crowd all rode the short bus before even the special schools gave up on them.
