Trump is just leaving himself a way out when the talks don't happen.

But, think about this...................if the talks don't happen, what is N. Korea going to do with their missile and nuke programs?

If Trump meets with Un, that legitimizes him as a nuclear world leader and gives him credence on the world stage.

If Trump doesn't meet with Un, then Un will use that as a reason to get his country to support him ramping up his nuke and missile programs.

You're right, N. Korea is a nuclear nation, but no other country has legitimized him as a leader of a nuclear nation. Meeting with Trump would do that, which is probably why other presidents haven't met with him.

And, do you REALLY think Un is going to give up his nukes and missiles? I don't. If he did, he would lose standing not only in the world, but in his own country as well and a coup could result.
