In a sweeping change to its enlistment regulations, the Army has raised the maximum age for eligible recruits to 42, the service announced.

The Navy and Air Force are already at 42 to enlist. It allows them to get 20 years in before their mandatory retirement date.

LOL....Before you rush to the Army recruiting office you need to remember....IEDs fly now. ;)

Jokes aside I can see it for some fit guy who's ex took everything from him in a divorce and he wants to start over.

So all those now on USMB who are so pro-War can go down to the recruiting station to enlist in Trump’s War. What are you all waiting for?

Well done. It was literally on the front page.

Aren’t you the guy who always razzes other posters for creating threads that already exist?

Frankly, the problem with raising the bar to 42 is that a 42 year old simply isn't as pliable as an 18 year old.

When I was 18, I believed whatever bullshit the Drill Sergeants would have told me.

At 42, I would have looked at these guys sideways (and they'd probably be younger than I am.)
