Arkansas education department cites 'indoctrination' as reason for dumping AP African American Studies - Arkansas Times
Teachers who offer an AP African American Studies course may be breaking the law, the state education department said. The department pulled the course from its recognized offerings the Friday before school was set to begin.

"After a weekend of staying mum on its last-minute decision to pull AP African American Studies from the state’s official offerings, the Arkansas Department of Education issued a statement Monday saying the course may violate the LEARNS Act, the new education law passed by the state legislature this spring. The department went on to give background on the decision, suggesting that teachers who offer this class may be breaking the law. “Arkansas law contains provisions regarding prohibited topics. Without clarity, we cannot approve a pilot that may unintentionally put a teacher at risk of violating Arkansas law,” the statement says.
Monday’s statement from the Arkansas Department of Education will certainly keep the culture war flames burning. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders‘ administration continues targeting classes and policies that honor multiculturalism and acceptance of traditionally marginalized groups. Little Rock School District Board member Ali Noland, an attorney representing public education advocates suing the state over the constitutionality of the LEARNS Act, said “This decision is a shameful and bigoted political stunt that will directly hurt our students and reinforce unfortunate stereotypes about Arkansas - Yet again, our state government is manufacturing a culture war at the expense of our students.”
This is a brilliant move by the Arkansas GOP because they are correct, forcing our children to learn about multiculturalism and the acceptance of groups that deserved to be marginalized, like Native Americans and darkies is the worst thing to happen to our children - and the more we force our children to learn they are part of a multicultural society, the weaker our nation will become. Also, for Arkansas, there are quite a few moments in its history that is best not talked about, ever...Like do you understand how traumatizing it would be for our children if we continue to teach them about how Little Rock is ground zero for school desegregation - perhaps one of the darkest days in Conservative American history - why do we want to remind children of that?
Or how, just 2 years later, in Wrightsville, Arkansas, how nearly 70 children (ages 13 to 17) were padlocked inside their school dormitory; while there was a fire raging around them; and 21 of them died while trying to claw and break their way out of the fire. As of a matter of fact, that was so bad that the state decided to not talk about it again; let alone charge anyone for any criminal negligence at the time it happened...and Arkansas officials were right to not talk about it and move on.

Woman still seeking justice after 1959 Wrightsville fire killed her brother
It was March 5, 1959 at 4 a.m. when 21 African American boys, ages 13 to 17, died in a fire while locked inside the dormitories of a school in Wrightsville.

but with this woke-anti-American history agenda being pushed on us by uppity blacks, they were going to try to force our children to learn of this? Why do we need to remember that? It is far better to forget about it and leave it in the past. Just because of few of the survivors and their family are upset about it, who cares -- that is not something that deserves to be a part of our history. Do these libs want more and more darkies to vote for Republicans? Because once they learn it was Democrats in control back then, more blacks will vote Republican -- which is exactly why Democrats want to teach this, I mean, it's exactly why Republican's don't want to teach, I mean...its complicated.
