If they're easy to understand, then you should be able to explain why axial precession and obliquity change temperature ... note that neither of these orbital parameters changes distance to the Sun ...

Well technically, an orbital pivot does vary distance from the sun during the cycle. It isn't circular so at some point one area is closer than another. Just saying.

That's orbital eccentricity ... and we can calculate the difference between a (= longest distance) and b (= shortest distance) using the formula

e^2 = 1 - (b^2/a^2)

I'm asking about axial procession and obliquity ... together only change the face of illumination, not the illumination itself ... over our 100-year-average, the changes in seasons all balance out ...
