No. The Republicans have always been more nationalist than the Democrats, though the tilt toward fascist tactics is new, as they used to support the Constitution. The Democrats are just showing their historic lack of self-control, we depended on the Republicans to exercise conservative control over, though actual conservative thought and action seems to have gone out their window, replaced by idol worship of a crazed figurehead.

One using its historic party name (Republican [now only for name recognition and fund-raising]) as if it still had meaning, though majorly devolving in the cult following of an autocratic leader, with House and Senate elected by the people, but devoted to supporting the sham in the Executive Office, whether he stands for defending the constitution, rule of law, historic alliances, disdain for autocrats, thugs, and communists or not. While the Democrats are basically floundering in their cluelessness, leaderless, carrying their misshapen values to extremes on the voices of their far left.

I simply do not see either party splitting to produce something better.
