Are ventilators really essential?

I didnā€™t say they die without one. I am saying not everyone with Wuhan virus needs a ventilator. Please tell me you arenā€™t so stupid to not know the difference.

You were correct in your original post - not everyone infected with COVID-19 needs a ventilator. There are different degrees of respiratory conditions based on patient oxygen levels and the condition of the lungs. One patient may need higher levels of oxygen and thus be given oxygen. Those in dire distress are placed on ventilator beds. Those who are placed on ventilators have serious lung complications, and for them full recovery could take months, if not a year or more.

Raise your hand if you know how a ventilator works.

Patient is sedated and lungs are paralyzed. Itā€™s a last ditch action. We donā€™t need as many ventilators as is claimed by the media.
I know how they work. People are sedated because itā€™s uncomfortable. Their lungs arenā€™t paralyzed (usually), this isnā€™t a polio epidemic. Their lungs are stiff, inflamed and canā€™t absorb oxygen easily. Theyā€™re necessary when the virus causes severe inflammation called ARDS.

They are not used in every COVID situation. The media would have you believe so. If you know how they work, you know they are end of life. They are not commonly used.

Depends on what you mean by commonly. Theyā€™re used in hospitals all the time. They are not end of life. Far from it. If ventilation were futile, they wouldnā€™t be used in the first place.

Like the drugs Darunavir, Nelfinavir, Saquinavir, Moexipril; the chemotherapy drugs Daunorubicin and Mitoxantrone; the painkiller Metamizole; the antihistamine Bepotastine; and the antimalarial drug Atovaquone.

What was your point? You googled a list of drugs you know nothing about?

Why are they available if they donā€™t work? Your inane dumb fucking post deserved a list of potential drugs that could work and are under trial.

Orange Man Bad..we know.

If you can't understand why the patients will die without one, then you shouldn't talk about it.

What??
Most people who have CV19 are NOT on a vent.
You realize hospitals are now using CPAP as a "vent" because they don't have enough vents? It is better than nothing, but is no vent. And some of them will suffer for it.
Some of these people will wish they had died. The next story about CV19 is the permanent damage to their lungs. The vents decrease the damage done.

And they are training doctors and nurses to use one ventilator on 4 patients......I read that a good while back.......think they started that in Italy.

Cuomo is a bitch and so is anyone whining about lack of ventilators. Just say ORANGE MAN BAD.

You sick fucks will now demand certification for those who are recovered or vaccinated. Maybe a big yellow star on the chest of those not vaccinated.

Actually thatā€™s not true at all. Your lungs never fully recover once youā€™re put on a ventilator. It causes massive scar tissue in your lungs. Having said that, yes, of course we need ventilators to save lives. Here in NJ we have a high percentage of ICU patients on ventilators.

Let it go............Reporters aren't on the front lines..........

The ventilators are necessary...in regards to the numbers........Major manufacturing companies are RETOOLING THEIR ASSEMBLY LINES to make them.

We don't do those things unless we need them..........

As I have said in other threads, my son is a Respiratory Specialist, my daughter is an RT and her husband is a Paramedic. All three are directly providing care to CV patients. Particularly my daughter, who has pod responsibility of adult ICU. Her hospital is using CPAPs instead of vents for several patients. They do not have enough vents. Now imagine o yourself how fucking difficult it is to decide who gets one and who doesn't. Knowing full well the one who doesn't may die or suffer permanent damage because if it.

What permanent damage?

What are you talking about it, the other day some 104 year old man got the libtard/communist virus and survived.

And furthermore... they are taking patients off of vents too early, because their need is not as dire as someone else. Being taken off of a vent too early can cause serious complications. But they don't have a choice. Some of these people need to be vented for 5-7 weeks to allow the lungs to heal properly. But they can't do that.
