I guess that it's the patience is a virtue thing.

Or, it could be looked at as being served a microwaved TV dinner or served a five-star meal from the best restaurant in town. God doesn't do microwave and the best takes time.

I keep saying them although it doesn't feel like it. I've been having a lot of problems with doubt lately I'm afraid. Doubt that prayer will actually ever do anything and doubt of my salvation because I've gotten so angry with the hatred in the world today that I've lost control of it. I already repented but don't feel forgiven. Although I know that's just Satan messing with my brain though.

You haven't been forgiven as God wants you to be, so it's no wonder you don't feel forgiven. Jesus gave us the sacrament of Reconciliation because He knows human nature, knows how to get us to feel forgiven... although at times, even Catholics do not always feel totally forgiven right after Confession (Reconciliation). The reason is that you also have to do penances in order to be totally free of sin.. Penance essentially means punishing yourself for your sins (hopefully after receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation).


An analogy: Parents forgive a child who, say, breaks the neighbor's window. But what if they don't make the child earn money to fix the window? What if they just pay for it themselves? The child doesn't learn anything and will go on to do other nefarious things, thinking he will always get away with anything he does. He grows up and finds out the hard way that everyone is not like his parents. Some people get mad as hell if you break their windows... rape their daughters or murder someone they love... The cops aren't going to let that go either.

God also punishes or chastises (that's maybe a better word) us, but it's better to do it ourselves... Chastise ourselves while on Earth... or maybe it will be a forever chastisement in

THere is no satan only evil people and you use prayer to unite with others who have moral values lie yours and do something. Crush the head of the snake.
