To think that political leaders would choose powerful political judges to be unpartisan and unbiased is truly infantile thinking.

Everything man endeavors to do is skewed by politics. This is why it matters little how many you have on the bench, which is why suggesting that putting more on the bench will somehow purify that body of partisan politics is absurd.

In fact, Jefferson blew a gasket after Marbury vs. Madison which essentially gave SCOTUS the supreme last say on what is Constitutional. That is what was never meant to be.

Republicans should oblige the Democrat strategy .. after all, it's what they wanted. I'd even support refreshing the Supreme Court with fresh, young justices for those justices that are advancing in age. Thomas has been in the Supreme Court for 30+ years and is 76. A nice 40 - 50-year-old would continue to secure the Supreme Court for years to come. Alito is 73 .. Sotomayor is 69.

I mean, Democrats don't think old people are relevant anymore .. so this makes sense .. right?
