Mexico is writing a big fat check for the wall any day now.
Well even if that doesn't happen in which it should have, Trump is still battling on for the nation to secure it's border with Mexico whom could care less about the negative impacts it has had on our country and citizens over these years. It wasn't a lie unless Trump would have abandoned his campaign promise completely, but he hasn't done that.
So he lied
Nope. He only had to defer to a different strategy like all politicians do once they get the entire lay of the land, the obstacles faced, and the opposition encountered.
No president has the answers until the door is opened to them all the way (once in office), and this is why we always see changes happen in which differ from the campaign strategy used. You never heard the phrase "Washington must have corrupted them once joined the club" ?
We are hopeful Trump is changing that now, and for as much opposition he is getting there from both sides, he must be knee deep in the crap being waded through.

He might not have gotten the Mexican government to write a check literally, but the untaxed American revenue Mexico has lost with illegal aliens working in America, and for whom were sending that money back home has got to be purdy significant to date. The jobs picked up by American's to date, and all in lue of, is also a significant positive for American's joining the workforce for the first time to date.
Hopefully things will balance back out for America and for Mexico after what was going on for to long now. To many American businessmen were duped into undermining their own country by joining in on the corruption that was started by whom back when it got out of hand ????
