Since Heaven is on a spiritual realm and we're in a physical one, I doubt extraterrestrials are angels. Since God is the ultimate creator who knows all, it's a curiosity to me why he'd create Lucifer and demons.

If you read the Book Of Job in the Old Testament (Hebrew Tenakh) it will answer your question for you.

Job is an odd book in the OT. Not only that God and Satan chit-chat like friends playing chess, but that an all-merciful, all-loving God would play with a person's life on a bet.

War is an invention of mankind. I strongly doubt an all-merciful, all-loving God would pit human beings together to "burn off old growth". If this were the case, then can't a case be made to abort substandard fetuses as serving a "purpose much like forest fires"?

I believe in the good Christ does for us...salvaging our souls when we die so that we are not evil and can be with family and friends for all of eternity. Not to mention the miracles He does for us in this lifetime.

Lucifer does it of his own free will. His purpose is probably to drag people into hell. Unfortunately, there are already people that believe God is an alien.

You bring up several interesting questions: Do angels have souls and free will? Would God let a human soul be dragged into Hell against their will? Is Lucifer equal to God? If Lucifer is equal to God, what about the other Angels? If the other Angels aren't equal to God, then why would Lucifer be? Where does Jesus figure into all of this?
