Arab Muslim's in Israel, Telecoms Lose 1 Billion

Wait. You mean the conflict hurts the Palestinian economy? No way.

No Zionist Israel hurts the Palestinian economy.

Pure horse shit.

Arab Muslim economies have never been strong ( oil, wow, now that was a real stroke of genius ) and these days are failing right and left, whats so special about this one ? Its been propped up by the Israeli's long enough. I say let it fail, throw the UNRWA out and get to the business of segregating enemy combatants from civilians and repatriating them asap.

BiSon1 is making things up again, I see.

The World Bank has identified three principal “paralytic effects” of Israeli policies on the Palestinian economy: access to economies of scale, access to natural resources and access to an investment horizon. It also cited physical impediments — road blocks, closures, earth mounds and the ongoing construction of the wall on West Bank land, the route of which was deemed illegal in an advisory opinion made by the International Court of Justice in 2004 — as a “paralysis confronting the Palestinian economy.” http://siteresources.worldbank.org/INTWESTBANKGAZA/Resources/AHLCSept15,08.pdf

An 8 year old report that does not say what you claim. But it does say

"Israel has announced a series of measures in support of the Palestinian economy, including but not confined to: (a) the upgrading or removal of a number of roadblock/obstacles across the West Bank; (b) the increase in working hours at the Allenby Bridge between the West Bank and Jordan; (c) plans for the issuance of an additional 5,000 permits for Palestinian workers to work in Israel; and (d) the issuance of special permits for farmers from Jenin and Nablus to travel to the Jordan Valley using their agricultural vehicles "

"The Palestinian economy suffers from numerous institutional restrictions resulting from more than 40 years of Israeli occupation, including no independent Palestinian currency, airport, or seaport. As a result, it is dependent on the ability to trade within its territories and with its neighbors. Trade flows constitute nearly 85 percent of the GDP, 85 to 90 percent of which is with Israel. This economic dependence on Israel can be seen as a direct result of Israel’s economic policies. Prior to 1993, Israel engaged in a policy of “integration” that, in theory, sought to eliminate the barriers that stood between the two economies. However, in practice, it codified and solidified the dependences of the OPT’s economy on that of Israel. Although there was a rise in Palestinian income as workers took up jobs inside of Israel and on Jewish-only settlements in the OPT, there were prohibitions on developing Palestinian commerce and industry. Accordingly, the dependence on the Israeli economy at the time of the Oslo Accords in the mid-1990s was immense: more then 90 percent of goods traveled to and from Israel and the trade deficit stood at 45 percent of the GDP. According to the World Bank, after the second Palestinian intifada broke out in late 2000, Israel announced that it intended to end all Palestinian employment in Israel effectively pulling the rug out from under the Palestinian economy. How much money has been squandered by the Arab Muslims in Israel and they still can't get it together.

One massive economic failure after another.

And everyone else is to blame. ;--) How convenient

Lets take a look at this hasbara Spiffy claims makes everything Israel's fault. As if the Arab Muslims constantly firing rockets at children and stabbing pregnant woman had nothing to do with it.

So, has anyone actually taken a look at all the wonderful contributors to ole Spiffy's link ?

Its a litany of PLO members and left wing self hating Jewish groups

Hardly an unbiased report.

Lets take a closer look at some of those economic reports in a slightly different light.

Quote

Summary: On May 9, 2007, the World Bank published a report entitled “Movement and Access Restrictions in the West Bank: Uncertainty and Inefficiency in the Palestinian Economy.” As the following analysis demonstrates, the claims made by the so-called "technical team" of the World Bank’s report lack credibility, and are based entirely on the publications of a variety of highly politicized groups and NGOs, including B’Tselem, Peace Now, HaMoked, Bimkom, Amnesty International, and UN OCHA. Furthermore, this report only focuses on one dimension of the complex issues that are involved. The authors briefly note that "Israel had legitimate reasons to take steps to protect its citizens from violence", but then dismiss the implications of this central point. As a result, the allegations and analysis contained in this report cannot reliably be used by policy makers attempting to deal with the challenges posed by the combination of ongoing Palestinian violence and economic crisis. In addition, this report is inconsistent with the World Bank’s apolitical humanitarian mission, and reflects negatively on this institution.

This report purporting to examine economic conditions of Palestinians in the West Bank is composed entirely of claims and allegations from various other sources, primarily politicized NGOs and OCHA (the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), with the addition of some newspaper reports and partial quotes from Israeli government documents. This report contains no original research by the World Bank. Of the 71 footnotes, 22 cite B’tselem claims; 6 are based on Peace Now’s political publications; with many others based on Hamoked, OCHA, Yesh Din, Bimkom, and Amnesty International. In addition, the journalistic publications cited in this report are themselves based on the allegations made by these NGOs and by OCHA.

Now be aware this is about a later report than the one Spiffy quoted however, go check out the authors of his original report and the one critiqued here.

Laughable pretty much covers it.

I think we need to view the failure of an economy managed by Islamic terrorists (with regard to the Arabs-Moslems occupying the disputed territories), with regard to similar Arab-Moslem economic, political and social failures across the Islamist Middle East.

While an identifiable cabal of cut and pasters will vilify Isreal as the sole impediment to to some wondrous Arab-Moslem economy that's somehow stifled by the Joooooooos, it's not all date palms and camels milk loveliness across islam'istan.

It’s a remarkable thing to see the wave of dictator displacements that have gripped the islamist Middle East were little more than mechanisms to replace theocratic dictatorships with theocratic totalitarians screeching the islamist politburo party line. The Salafi Islamistreplacements are just as extreme Dark Age addled pious retrogrades as the wahabbi loons they replaced. Make no mistake – theocratic Crusades (of the Salafi kind), are on the march across the Middle East. That prospect should not be lost on any of the Islamic terrorist huggers as Muhammud’s (swish) 7th century invention of islamism takes hold.

Unfortunately, what many Westerners are not taking away from these theocratic Crusades is that islamic social mores and sharia “law” are seen as the preferred (and legitimate), societal construct as opposed to Western values of equality under the law, rule of law, separation of church and state and principles whereby the rights of the few are not usurped by the will of the majority. To put a finer point on the matter, Moslems by and large want to be ruled by Islamist regimes, this, in spite of their propensity for economic malaise, social inequities, denigration of religious / secular minorities and gender apartheid!

The King is dead. Long live the Islamist theocrat.

Looks like Spiffy had his ass handed to him again. And to think he claims to be a masterdebator, sounds a lot like, he's just another wanker.

So Spiff, tell us more about the people who wrote that darling little hasbara piece you just tried to run up the flag pole.

And why is it every time we hear about another Arab Muslim financial blunder you blame it on the Israeli's ;--)

He's probably topped out. I mean he's constantly masterdebating yet he just doesn't seem to be very good at it.

Must be he only has limited study materials to work with. ;--)

Just take a look at that bogus link he offered. Did you read the authors ? first one on the list is BsillyM or however you spell it. Classic anti Israeli NGO hasbara.

Is that why the Palestinians just dumped their goods on Israel's doorstep and demanded payment. Then complained when Israel refused and told them to find their own market for them. Far too long they had made money on Israel's good name and knew they faced hardship trying to sell their own produce.

He's got his head up his rear end again. The report he's referencing is from a propaganda team consisting of every anti Israeli NGO over there. I exposed them for what they are earlier in the thread.

Lets get real

The ONLY reason the Arab Muslims in Israel are such bumbling incompetents is because the UNRWA spent all its time teaching hate and the terrorists false narrative than on actual education.

If you teach the children hatred, then hatred is all that they know. If you teach the children to exist on handouts and welfare, how in the world are they ever going to learn to pay their own bills.

The Arab Muslims are third generation deadbeats at this point and its going to take a very concerted effort to bring them back into productive society again
