AP: Trump says he won’t negotiate to end the shutdown

Trump wants a legacy of Rich and Powerful Man.

Reality will be a legacy of Con Man and many other choice descriptions.
Worst US POTUS in History.
Yep, he looks to Xi and Putin as examples of how to lead. Even copies things they do.

Dems have been asking to talk, but getting nothing from Republican leadership.
They have been given multiple chances to reopen the government and have refused every one of them. They have proposed nothing. They have not, for example, proposed a separate bill either extending the subsidies or making them permanent while opening up the government and making sure that people can eat. They want power more than they want to feed people.

Now, where have they been asking to open talks and what have they offered in negotiation?

Almost right which is rare for you. They also offered not just negotiations, but a vote on extending the Temporary COVID Subdidies.

Democrats don't want to vote. They want a guaranteed outcome in exchange for releasing the hostages. Not just the ACA subsidies, that is a red herring. Their key goal is healthcare for illegal aliens who were granted legal status. They want those voters to stay and be dependent on Democrat largesse.

That's why they spent four years bringing in illegal aliens and granting them legal status.

What do you mean by honest negotiations? The Republicans were elected, because their voters want them to behave like Republicans. That does not include for free healthcare for illegal aliens, which was the goal expressed by all democrat candidates in 2020.

The republicans do not have to demonstrate "honesty" by giving in to that demand.

Right now democrats don't really have a lot of cards to play. They have the filibuster and . . . that's pretty much it.
This really is democrats ignoring the results of the election.

Well, well well. And all this time, my fellow conservatives told me the inflexible ones were the democrats:

AP:
President Donald Trump said in an interview aired on Sunday that he “won't be extorted” by Democrats who are demanding negotiations to extend the expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies. Echoing congressional Republicans, the president said on CBS' “60 Minutes” he'll negotiate only when the government is reopened.
CR s are not for negotiating new spending, Dumbass.

Trump is OK with it as the fresh Economic data for the third quarter is delayed in coming out.

4th quarter including Black Friday data might be late too. All up to the biggest "Do Nothing" congress America has ever seen.

Trump says he won’t negotiate to end the shutdown

^^^^^^^Another idiot still trying to blame Trump for something Chuckie Schumer did. Just what "negotiation" can Trump make with people who won't even vote on a CR to keep the government operating? ITMT, the only "compromise" democrats are willing to make is for the GOP to give them 100% of their insanely unreasonable demands.

Freshman Senate Dems and House Republicans to on bipartisan ACA plan

Two Senate Democrats and two House Republicans are planning to huddle Friday over a possible bipartisan plan to extend soon-to-expire Obamacare subsidies, according to four people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Centrist Senate Democrats are working feverishly to hammer out an ACA framework in more detail to give Democrats an off-ramp to vote to reopen the government.

Can a solution be found despite Dotard's efforts to keep the government shut down?

They'll have to get past Schumer first, who has steadfastly refused to offer this common-sense approach and still wants the shutdown that bears his name to continue.

It will be interesting to see if he keeps the shutdown intact when these guys present a compromise bill.

At this point, the Democrats are just being foolishly stubborn.

Are they really going to inflict the end of SNAP and WIC, as well as flight delays due to Air Traffic Controllers calling in sick so the can work at DoorDash? All that over the Thanksgiving Weekend?

Not to mention that private charity soup kitchens that typically serve a turkey dinner to homeless people will now be besieged by people whose SNAP ran out halfway through November.

SNAP dependents are not like the homeless. The homeless are usually happy to get whatever they get. These SNAP'ers are used to the same service that paying customers get, and they will be very upset if the mashed potatoes and gravy runs out too soon.

They say that increasing premiums by hundreds of dollars is fine because “clean CR”

We are discussing appreciations for one foosball year, and you throw in a $1.5 trillion amount from a right wing thing tank without stating it is a 10 year estimate. You know very well that conservative idiots in this board would automatically assume it’s for one year. That was your intention: To mislead.

It was also your intention not to tell people that your estimate came from A right wing think tank. When people hear estimates they assume it came from the CBO first because that the only legit entity that gives you unbiased estimates. You knew that. And you thought you were slick.

Unfortunately, I was around to catch you. And I caught you.

So you couldn't find a post where I stated it, huh? So you deflect and make shit up, got it.

Why do you say that? Q3 2025 projections is +3.9%

Oh my word. Trump's "Fart of the Deal" is "give me what I want, and then when you're in no position to negotiate, I'll then negotiate with you and get everything I want because.... hahaha"

Do you think Democrats are that ******* STUPID?

What you see is the typical "Republicans good, Democrats bad, ugh, ugh".

You haven't made an argument. You've taken an argument made by some lacky who was told to give Trump supporters a small reason to keep believing and you're keeping believing. Well done.

Do they need to "follow citizens"? Which citizens would that be then?

More than 50% of the citizens who bothered to vote, voted AGAINST Trump.

And of the 350 million or so citizens, only 77 million voted for Trump. 22%. So, 78% didn't vote for Trump.
Great, now do you think Republicans are ******* stupid to believe Democrats that not a penny goes to healthcare for illegal aliens?

The problem is, it'd be cheaper to treat all illegal immigrants and all Americans in an NHS style health service, than what exists now.

I doubt that chucky ever expected the shutdown to drag out this long.

He expected that Democrat senators with more balls than he or at least more afraid of their own voters than of AOC, would have crossed over and voted for the clean CR.

Then they - not Chuck - would be in the doghouse with Alexandria.

What he did not understand is that every Senate Democrat with even one gonad, already voted for the clean CR, on the first ballot, if i'm not mistaken.

With the victory of radicalism in New York and in Virginia, they will be even more afraid of the far left wing of their party.

With the exception of that small faction of MTG Republicans, GOP voters will suffer far less than Democrat voters as the shutdown goes on. Federal employees
and welfare dependents overwhelming vote Democrat.

They are about to have a lean and mean Thanksgiving. And then an even more lean Christmas.

Hopefully, they will have some Republican relatives who will invite them for a meal.
Why is the second half of your post (here and in others) so hard to read?

Is it a thing you decided to do or are you suffering from some glitch?

No, I didn't decide to do it. It started recently. Unkotare asked me about it. When I post on my phone, I don't see it. But I see it later when I'm on the site from my PC.

I don't know if it is something about my phone, or if the admins are trying to tell me my posts are too wordy.

Has it happened to anyone else, as far as you know?

15th post
And of course, you will have the honor of determining whether Republicans proposals are good faith, and whether Democrats proposals are good faith.
The suspense is killing me
Schumer's proposal is the same pile of shit. I don't blame Trump.
