Anyone Notice GPS’s Are Getting Worse?

I'm out of buttermilk but I am in the mood for some cornbread, so guess I'll have to compromise later when it cools some, too hot for oven now.
I had Mom's potato soup and corn bread just last week. I think I gained 5 lbs.

Seems like now they’re all ‘most efficient’ or ‘shortest route’ no matter your settings.

Which means it has you get off main roads onto tiny cow paths and then later you end up back on the main road you were on. I’m sure it’s because it’s 2 feet shorter distance.

I believe it’s because they’re thinking their new programs are saving people gas, when in fact it costs you more. I never use a GPS of any type now without studying the route, and about 50% of the time will override the GPS.

Exhibit 4,738 on technology getting worse.
I thought a wobble was put on the GPS signal so it was 'within' a certain accuracy. Then when the US went to war, they took the wobble off to get the accuracy.

Or did I hear that wrong years ago?

1. I am 85.

2. I do not drive. (Too chicken!)

3. Just read a story today (on the Guardian website) about some people who deliver food in England being fired because their GPS is sending them on bad routes.

4. It seems that some food delivery companies are using cheap GPS systems to save money.

5. And those companies refuse to accept the drivers' complaints that they are receiving bad GPS instructions.

Nothing to do accuracy. It’s the crappy software by envirowhackos directing people in the wrong direction because they think their helping the environment.

Well, my sat nav is inaccurate, unprompted, and naggy, even when I don't have Google Maps in the car, it comes from the passenger seat called the girlfriend.

I don't do the GPS thing but have been told by several people that they are bad about trying to send people the wrong way down one way streets in the downtown area of my city.

Try this new system ...

I've got a bunch of these in my glove box right next to the ice scraper.
