You clearly don't understand the purpose of bail reform. Bail policies didn't keep dangerous criminals off the street, they often could make bail. It keep poor suspects (who had not yet been convicted of anything) in prison for often non-violent offenses. The reform law requires the prosecutor to demonstrate why a suspect is dangerous and should be remanded.


Except that police spending has increased.

As for retirements.. if you are a cop who misses the days you could beat up a black person, we are all better off if you do retire.


Don't market to the crazies.
Actually hold gun sellers to account.
Don't use guys working out of their garages and gun shows as "retailers".
Don't spend millions of dollars watering down the gun laws on a state level.

We weren't discussing federal. (I never got to that point because the Missus vetoed having a gun in the house) The argument being made was that Illinois (boo-hiss-boo) has the "toughest gun laws in the country". I pointed out an $11.00 background check just isn't a very tough law. I am sure the Federal background check is equally a joke.

Speaking of the Missus... I am currently in the process of sponsoring her for a marriage visa. Even though she's been here for 7 years on a work Visa. In order to do this, I've had to hire a lawyer, pay $1760 in fees, submit 200 pages of documentation (including photographic evidence) all in order to prove it's a valid marriage and not just someone trying to scam a green card.
