API - The star Sirius, also known as the dog star, has came forward to claim that 30 million years ago she was fondled by the red giant Betelgeuse. Representatives of the red giant, main sequence star, have claimed it's just another lie, saying it was just a coronal mass ejection, and that Sirius is just another old star that thinks she's too hot to handle!

Anyway, betelgeuse is not, and never has been, anywhere near Sirius. Both are visible in this picture, however. The orangish star near the upper left is Betelgeuse. The bright star below it, near the lower left,is Sirius.
