Your killer is more likely to be released without charges in New York.Actually, NYC has a very low murder rate from all types of attacks for any large city. You sure can pick em. And when a given state equals a large city in murders then you had best think about firing you police chiefs.
BTW, NYC population (not counting the burroughs) is 19 million. Texas is about 29 million. When you add in the NYC Burroughs you come within 9 million population.
Texas has a 6.6 per 100K of population for murders. NY State has 5.6. That means that I am more likely to be murdered in Texas than NY State. Also, considering that NYC has 3.6 per 100K of population. Meaning I am almost twice as likely to be murdered in Texas than NYC. Texas is the murder capital of the United States.
Chicago is the murder capital of THE US.
