As I understand it law enforcement can grab the guns and later on the owner can sue to get them back

A medical professional testifies the man is a danger to himself or others
Employers and coworkers testify the man is making threats
A spouse testifies the man is making threats against the family
Teachers and fellow students testify about bizarre statements the person is making

There is no requirement for a medical professional to weigh in in any red flag law and if the accused is not notified of a hearing then his rights are being violated because he is being denied the ability to confront his accusers and to have counsel present.
