Hi everyone!

I'm not sure how much information I'm supposed to give out here, so I'll just try to touch on the basics.

I'm from Massachusetts, but my fiance and I are saving to make the move to northern Vermont. If I had to describe my views, I'd say I'm probably a democratic socialist (and sick of explaining what that is all the time, haha). I'm a registered Green and traditionally vote Green, independent, and Democratic (in that order). I'm also an atheist and a naturalistic pantheist. I'm pro-choice, pro-LGBT rights, anti-war and an environmentalist. I identify as a biromantic, demisexual, cis gendered female.

I can't stand when people resort to name-calling, generalizations and untruths to make a point. In my opinion, if you're right, the facts can do all the arguing for you. If you feel the need to start saying things like "typical liberal..." or "republiscums", you need to take a breather and come back when you can handle an adult debate. For that reason, I've been known to post a few months on and then duck out for a few weeks or months until I can deal with the ugliness on the boards without flipping out. I try to be kind and understanding in all my interactions and I believe everyone deserves common courtesy until they've shown they are undeserving of it.

That's about it, I look forward to getting to know everyone and I'm always open to talking about anything if anyone ever needs someone to listen.

Welcome, I agree with you about the name calling and I also always try to be kind unless someone isn't to me.

Enjoy your time here.

Democratic socialist... Well, at least you're honest about it and not ashamed to admit it. Welcome.

I find it interesting that you identify as a biromantic, demisexual, cis gendered female.

Why would you tell us that you are normal, unless you are hung up somehow on your sexual identity? Is there a conflict between being biromantic and demisexual?

At any rate, welcome aboard and as I tell all the fresh meat, fasten your seat belt. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

I'm not sure what you mean by the bolded section. I'm not hung up on it. I've been posting on several different boards for the last decade or so and things of that nature tend to come up when the discussion turns to LGBT rights (which I assume happens here just as much as anywhere else), so I included it for identification purposes.

As far as conflict between the two, certainly not. It just means I can be romantically involved with either gender but that I am a form of asexual.

Just seems strange to me. LGBT stuff does come up, But there's not a lot of "gay bashing" except for some personal animosity between a few members.

It seems to me like you're going on the defensive right off the bat. Maybe you just gave me more information than I wanted... Just my perception. Take it for what it's worth.

Err. Why is a statement defensive? It was just... well... a statement.

Like I said, my perception. I have visions of future melt downs and referring people to your intro thread. I hope I'm wrong, but in my experience, people who give way too much information, either have an agenda or emotional problems. I hope I'm wrong. So far, I find you interesting.

Ahh. Well. I'm just a person of few secrets, I suppose. I'm not really subject to meltdowns. I think it's that many of the boards I post on are either very personal (like the postsecret community), or it's somewhere I posted for years and people seem to know everything about each other anyway.

When I post about something, I have a tendency to post both an argument and an opinion based on my personal experiences. Perhaps that is the source of this. I have to be honest, the largest/most active board I ever posted regularly on was probably the AOL Do You Believe board, and that had a core of maybe a few hundred regular posters. I suppose that could be the reason, also.

Either way, I appreciate the honesty.
