The attacking/invading force deserves to suffer casualties.
Israel prefers to attack people who have no defence, and it would be nice to see a few coffins draped with that shitty blue and white flag.
Thousands would be nice - that way they might stop murdering unarmed children.
Almost a third of the casualties in Gaza were kids, the IDF murderers deserve to die.
I agree that the attacking side, the aggressor - who has a choice on whether to attack or to make a peaceful solution deserves to take casualties, and this would be a significant persuader against repeated aggression.
However I do not agree that the IDF murderers deserve to die. Just as I don't agree that the Hamas fighters do not deserve to die.
Either fatalities will be seen by some as a 'solution' of sorts, but it is nothing of the sort. There are a million or more who stand in line to replace them. Which is why Zionists here look so ridiculous when they call the killing of resistance fighters some sort of victory.
In any case, both are driven by their personal circumstances, families, accident of history to be on the sides they are now, and could just as easily have been on the other, doing the other sides dirty work, or in Africa, condemning Israel or America condemning Palestinians. They may have more personal responsibility too, but that is not to be assumed. The guilty ones are the leaders who plan for everyone to reach this situation, commensurate with their power to choose better alternatives. So Gazan / Palestinian leadership - dire though it may be - has basically the choice to resist with armed struggle or be closely occupied and erased, as Israel is doing to the West Bank. They have a lot less choice that Israel.
Israel has the choice of a multitude of options which embrace universal respect for everyone involved, yet insists on using war as the single tool to create change. As such Israeli leaders are guilty 10 fold, and also responsible for the desperate measures the resistance is pushed into,
So the individual IDF member is most likely a victim of unfortunate circumstances. Their SIDE deserves to take massive casualties, but that individual doesn't
deserve death.
In any case, few people ever get what they deserve. If we were all judged on our worse action and punished accordingly, the world would be a very evil place.
A bit like a 24 hr Texas Death Row, where everyone had a seat in line.
