Has Hollywood run out of original ideas or something?

They just made up a completely new Superman story that does not resemble the original. Yeah I would say they have run out of ideas.

It's not so much run out of ideas, I think, as it is going with something they think is sure to make money. Godzilla has enough of a pre-made audience it's worth financing because there is likely to be xxx amount of return even if it's terrible.

Besides, I'm really hoping it's good! The last one, with Matthew Broderick, was terrible.

In my stupid opinion, movies like this are like stag films. The story line is totally unimportant; they are only produced so that the techies can show off the latest special effects.

And you have to admit, it is fucking amazing what they can do, and how they can create events and physical phenomena that are completely mind-blowing.

And furthermore I can see why people would pay to see it in a theater setting. I wouldn't, but I can see why some people would.

The best Godzilla was the original with Raymond Burr, before he was Perry Mason. It played on the unknown fears about nuclear technology.

Today, it's just "let's see how much we can blow stuff up".
Ask any clueless Millennial and they will say 'who is Raymond Burr'?
