The Left Says That We Thought Jesus Was Blonde And Blue Eyed, Not Historians

I never saw a movie with a Jesus that looked like Chris Hemsworth. Every movie I saw was with a Jesus with dark hair and dark eyes.
Jesus was a Jew. However the left always claimed otherwise.

There are so many things that the left has lied to us about. Hollywood has perpetuated these lies.

Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the series "The Chosen", was invited as a guest on "The View" and he set them straight on this fallacy that the left tends to mislead viewers with.

He plays the best Jesus. I was never able to see season 4.

While He was very unlikely blond haired and blue eyed, you have to remember Israelites, and Jews are NOT Arabs. Arabs had a Egyptian mother. Sarah was thought to be blonde. King David was described as being of "ruddy" complexion (a ginger?). Israel is definitely part of the white race. So Jesus was no doubt "whiter" than many want to believe

I'm a bit more lenient in my views about that. When we see an artists rendition of a black Jesus, I just see see affirmation of black people relating to, accepting Jesus. Again it is normal human instinct to relate Jesus, who we can only imagine in our minds as to how he looked, to be more like us.

That doesn't mean we reject images that don't look like us. I think the artist renditions of Jesus as looking more like other races as absolutely beautiful and I no way feel less reverent seeing them than I do seeing Hook's Head of Christ:

Or the most popular artist rendition which is Sallman's head of Christ:

We don't really know what he looks like like for a good reason.

We worship who He IS (heart and soul) not His physical body.

Revelation provides a description of His appearance now. That's all that matters

Appearance
  • Hair: White like wool or snow
  • Eyes: Like a flame of fire
    • Feet: Like bronze glowing in a furnace
    • Voice: Like the sound of rushing waters

But Revelations is a symbolic appearance of a risen Christ. Jesus of Nazareth was a man in his 30's when he was crucified and there is nothing in the scriptures to suggest his appearance was out of the ordinary at that time.

You may be right that there is a reason we have no drawing or other hints as to how Jesus might have looked. But then we don't know what any of the people of the Bible looked like.

Pretty much nobody was described in detail in the Scriptures unlike much of our modern literature. But in this age of movies, television, computer images, video, photography etc., I think it is only natural to imagine what ancient personalities might have looked like. And most likely most of us have our imaginations influenced by artist renditions or those movie/TV/whatever creations.

I don't necessarily think of a Charleston Heston Moses because of so many other artistic renditions of Moses. But my imagination sees a John Derek Joshua. :)

Jesus likely looked like a Middle Eastern Semitic Jew. Which is exactly what he was. Why is this a mystery? No doubt brown hair and eyes, olive complexion.

Many prefer an effeminate Jesus, posed provocatively on the cross.

Jesus was an average looking Jew, short hair, but he did have some nice threads.

Sarah would be the matriarch of the birthright, Rebekah the matriarch of the scepter.
