Another Day...Another Surgery...UGH!

I can imagine. After 9 days in the hospital after the heart surgery I got so bad they kicked me out :D

Even discharged me with no pain meds to take home (Other than extra strength tylenol which I already had at home).

That sucks!!
Yeah I'm not a good patient either. They know I'm going to want out of the hospital as soon as possible.
I've gotten to the point of telling them I'm leaving in an hour paperwork or no paperwork.
After so many surgeries they know I'm not kidding.

After so many surgeries they know I'm not kidding.

I had a catheter in my neck for 9 days...I told them the only one who's touching it is the person REMOVING it.

They said "we'll have to poke you then". I said "THEN POKE ME".

I also refused to take one certain med and that was it...they moved heaven and earth to get me out of there.

Then I got a new "nurse" for check out...she said my old nurse got called up to 5th floor for an emergency. I said "yeah...everybody is afraid of me now"...we both busted out laughing :D

They gave me a heart medication that caused a bad cough...so bad infact that the cough gave me a hernia.

Today was my hernia surgery. Not terrible...I slept thru the whole thing. I was in at 7:00 am and home by 1:00 pm. But now I have to deal with the pain and discomfort..

The biggest problem is the dizzyness from the pain med's...so I wont drive in this condition :(

But hey...look at the bright side...I got my bikini wax and now I'm ready to go shopping for my very first speedo  :auiqs.jpg:
You got a hernia in the ass?

Welp, the swelling and the pain have begun :(

I thunked I was gonna get off this time easily...Nope...looks like NOT.

UGH!

Oh man this sucks!

Advil was working great for pain & swelling...but I had to stop taking it because I needed to start taking my blood thinner again & those 2 don't like eachother.

Acetaminophen ain't working nearly as good...Delauded (hydro-morphine) helps a bit but mostly makes me constipated, so I ain't taking much. Now I'm using ice packs to keep the swelling down.

Me nuggets is bruised :omg:

This friggan sucks :206:

GET OFF THAT SHIT. Get your doctor to switch you to Losartan + Hydrochlorothiazide! What is wrong with your doctor not doing that himself, did you report your cough?
This may shock you, but maybe just maybe his doctor knows more than you do about the medication and the situation than you do.

Idiot, how do you know WHAT my qualifications are? Further, apparently you are too stupid to read the thread where he did just that because his doctor agreed with me! Imbecile.

Nobody was afraid of you.

Ok, what are your qualifications? What qualifies you to recommend to total strangers that they get their doctor to alter prescribed medication?

It's a dry cough that does NOTHING for the "lung itch"...so you cough and cough and cough. The cough would wake me up in the middle of the night & I wouldn't have a clue how many hours I had been coughing.
 I experienced that for almost two years before I adjusted to it.

.....

A cough so bad it gave you a hernia? That's a pretty bad cough.

You aren't angry that they prescribed the wrong heart medication that was responsible for the hernia and the operation you slept through and the pain and discomfort?

I have to try to watch my anger...heart is still recovering.

And I wouldn't say it was the "wrong" med...it just didn't work for me.

Alot of the meds and the dosage is trial and error. They don't automatically know the best meds for you just by looking at you. They need to try something & see what reaction you have (good or bad).

But I'll tell you one thing...the PATIENT had better be involved in making decisions or he/she is gonna end up dead!

There are several things they prescribed me that I stopped taking...some doctors got pissed off & I told them tough shit...the stuff was killing me.

The cough did not relieve the lung itch. So I just kept coughing and coughing.
