Anger as Republicans block bill to help military veterans exposed to toxins

So let's get this straight...Republicans changed their vote to defeat this Bill because after 8 TRILLION in spending under their hero Trump...they have once again become born again deficit hawks and THIS is where they want to draw the line?

On a bill that will save veterans health and lives?

Pure assholes

Post number three. Teh bill was changed. Thus explaining the change in voting that the op acted as though it was....something.

MMmm, you know, shit like this, really shows that the Left doesn't have REAL complaints to make about the Right.

We must be Golden, that you are down to silly games like this.

You can't change a bill between the time it passes the House and goes to the Senate.

This is just Mitch acting like a 12 year old.

Funny. You could put the blame on the lefty assholes that choose to play politics with the vet bill.

But, that doesn't give you any advantage does it?

It passed with bipartisan support in the House.

Care for veterans and the money to make it happen. McConnell never wants the Democrats to get a "win" or anything to run on. He did the same thing when Obama was President.

The Republicans will NEVER vote for anything that helps working Americans. Especially veterans. It's disgusting.

Even far more disgusting is how you Democrats craft a bill that has poisonous ramifications within it it, just so they can point derisively at the Republicans who won't go along with it.

Like gutting the Second Amendment then saying how "Republicans want to kill the children" when they don't vote for it.

Everyone knows how you Democrats roll. You're not fooling anyone.

then change it to say every penny goes to those vets....then you will see the democrats moan about that.....their little pet projects wont get funded...

Like Mitch all you care about is the politics, screw the veterans.

I don't know when the change was done. But it was changed.

If you really cared about vets, you would be attacking the leftards who put a poison pill into a vet bill.

But you don't. You are supporting those people's play, by pushign the false idea that this was a vote against vets by the republicans.

You leftards play political games, to get these political points so that your partisans can throw shit, and the vets get fucked, and you support it.

"They’re manufacturing reasons to vote against legislation that they literally voted for just last month," Butler added. "And so it’s really a new level of low."

Veterans who were exposed to toxins during deployments said the lives of sick and dying people who served the nation are on the line.

"It’s angering. It’s frustrating," said Tom Porter, 54, who developed asthma after spending a year in Afghanistan with the U.S. Navy Reserve from 2010 to 2011.

In the first week of his deployment, Porter said he suffered a serious reaction with his lungs and could not breathe.

Le Roy Torres, 49, who was diagnosed with a lung disease and a toxic brain injury after he was deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Army, said he was devastated about the failure of the bill and urged lawmakers to reconvene immediately.

Is that anyway to treat the veterans, they are spiteful at Joe Manchins agreeing to the package.
Your reference link is very one sided

Barely 3 sentences giving the republican side of the story

Tester rebutted Toomey on Wednesday, saying it was outlandish to think that Congress would ever spend that amount of money on unrelated programs through the bipartisan appropriations process.
“Make no mistake about this, the American people are sick and tired of the games that go on in this body,” he said. “We can make up all sorts of excuses about how this is going to move money around, but — let me tell you something — we are the ones who decide that. If we want to move money around, we will; if we don’t, we won’t. In the meantime, let’s pass this bill.”

As I recall Repubs at one time also blocked a bill to give benefits to the first responders on 9/11.

So.........they are consistent in their disregard for the health of cops, firemen, and vets.

The bill was NOT significantly changed. This is the disgusting. Jon Stewart says that the Republican Party has never met a war they didn't like, or a veteran they won't screw over. He's right.

You wonder why the military has so much trouble recruiting these days, well this is why. You promise vets you'll look after them and then you don't. I wish I could say our government is better, but we don't have the greatest record on taking care of our vets either.

This is not a partisan issue. We OWE these people what we promised when they signed up. Our freedoms and security depends on them, and the government uses them, and sends them into danger, and then when they get hurt, they're denied care.

Shameful.

Oh and the provision that Republicans are whining about

WAS IN THE BILL WHEN THEY VOTED FOR IT IN JUNE

THEY ARE LYING

I don't know when the change was done. But it was changed.
The part of the Bill that Republicans are pointing has NOT changed. It was there when they voted to pass it on June 16

There is no poison pill.

The Republicans are just assholes. They're screwing over the veterans because they're pissed at Dems for passing OTHER legislation
