Mr. Yang's chances are dependent on who his opponents are.

To be very frank, if his opponents include an African American person or a Hispanic person, then I feel that the electorate in New York City would bypass an Asian person for one of his opponents.

Like it or not, most voters in 2021 do not vote for a candidate's policies but rather his/her personal attributes.

I guess that they made the horrible mistake of voting for Mr. de Blasio simply because he was NOT a Republican and because of certain personal reasons.

New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang said Wednesday that the city could benefit financially from the development of a casino despite the "many downsides" of the business.⁣

As the city faces a $15 billion deficit after nearly a year of COVID-19, developers are looking toward the possibility of opening a casino that could generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, according to The New York Times.⁣
