RFK has begun to hurt the health of our nation

RFK Jr. removes all 17 members of CDC's vaccine advisory committee

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Monday he is removing all 17 sitting members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's vaccine advisory committee and replacing them with new members.

The Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) makes recommendations on the safety, efficacy and clinical need of vaccines.

Kennedy had previously claimed he would not touch ACIP. In February Sen. Bill Cassidy, a Republican from Louisiana, who said he had initially struggled with Kennedy's nomination for HHS secretary before voting to confirm him, said Kennedy had promised him no changes would be made to ACIP. Cassidy said there is a fear the ACIP "will be filled up with people who know nothing about vaccines except suspicion. I’ve just spoken with Secretary Kennedy, and I’ll continue to talk with him to ensure this is not the case."

Dr. Paul Offit, a pediatrician specializing in infectious diseases at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a member of the FDA's independent panel of vaccine advisers, told ABC News he thought the decision Monday was extremely dangerous.

RFK should never have been confirmed as he is biased, has strong ideas that go against science, and is incompetent.

Keep it up Bobby!

AI Overview

Vaccines have played a crucial role in saving lives across the globe, with studies estimating that they have prevented 154 million deaths since 1974. In the United States, routine childhood immunizations have prevented an estimated 1.13 million deaths and 508 million lifetime illnesses, resulting in significant cost savings.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of deaths directly attributable to vaccines in the United States is extremely low.

I am not a republican, but I do have a science degree, little one.

How about you?
Then you are a scam artist, given your previous post.

I am not a scientist but believe strongly in science, given that science is what has kept me alive for the past 20 years.

I believe in Vaccines, having seen how they have helped me and everyone in my family, including all my friends and acquaintances. I am also not a liberal (by the definition of it) but a centrist that believes that compromising is key to health of a nation.

As far as your comment about "little one", it goes to show your lack of knowledge and information. There is nothing "little" about me. I am 6'5", weigh 240 lbs, and am 79 years of age with a very complete and varied background. I have also achieved all of my life's objectives.

You are likely the "little one" when compared to me.

You are an uneducated child given all if your posts.
Wow, I am 79 years of age, been in 5 different industries in my life and been successful in each of them. I have achieved my life's goals. So your stupid post is just that......................totally stupid and misinformed. Talk about being uneducated, you certainly fit the definition of it.

Do you know if the people fired supported promoting ALL babies/children/teens/young adults getting the COVID vac and bosters? Did any of these people try and discredit reports of harmful side effects to the COVID vac in babies/children/teens/young adults?

Sorry for butting in but I have to take issue with your belief in "compromising". I think we should be uncompromising regarding our health. We should stick to strict regimens regarding our personal health. That said I support the use of the time-tested and proven vaccines. The whole vaccine issue is really centered around the Covid vaccines and the argument about the cause of autism. Because all of the time-tested vaccines predate the explosion of autism I don't think they are the cause. There's something else in the water, or in the wind.

I'm 85 and somewhat shorter and lighter than you. Glad to see other oldsters here. :)

I agree that we should never compromise in health. That is not what I meant in my post when I said "compromise".

While serious adverse effects from COVID-19 vaccines are
rare, there has been a discussion and research around certain adverse events (AEs) that have been reported, and some concerns regarding how they could potentially be mitigated or better addressed in the future.
Serious but Rare AEs and Potential Mitigation:
  • Myocarditis and Pericarditis:
    • Description: Inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis) or the lining around the heart (pericarditis), which has been linked to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. It is most frequent in adolescent and young adult males after the second dose.
    • Mitigation Efforts: Information on the rare risk of myocarditis and pericarditis following vaccination is now shared with individuals, especially males ages 12-39. Extending the interval between the first and second dose might reduce the risk in some people. Those who develop myocarditis or pericarditis after a vaccine dose are generally advised not to receive a subsequent dose.
  • Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS):
    • Description: A rare but serious clotting disorder associated with the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, involving blood clots and low platelet counts.
    • Mitigation Efforts: After observing this rare but serious AE, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended using mRNA vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) instead of the J&J/Janssen vaccine.
  • Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS):
    • Description: A rare neurological disorder where the immune system attacks nerves, causing muscle weakness and potentially paralysis. It was linked to the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine at a higher rate than with mRNA vaccines.
    • Mitigation Efforts: Similar to TTS, the ACIP recommended mRNA vaccines as the preferred option due to the higher rate of GBS associated with the J&J/Janssen vaccine.
  • Anaphylaxis:
    • Description: A severe allergic reaction that can occur after any vaccine, although it's rare with COVID-19 vaccines.
    • Mitigation Efforts: Healthcare providers are trained to recognize and treat anaphylaxis immediately. Individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions to a vaccine ingredient should avoid that vaccine type.
  • Shoulder Injuries Related to Vaccine Administration (SIRVA):
    • Description: Injury to the shoulder caused by the injection of the vaccine.
    • Mitigation: While not specific to COVID-19 vaccines, proper injection technique and careful administration can prevent SIRVA.
General Considerations for Mitigation and Prevention:
  • Open and Transparent Communication: Providing accurate information about vaccine side effects and safety data to the public is important for building trust and addressing concerns.
  • Post-Marketing Surveillance: Systems like VAERS are crucial for monitoring vaccine safety and identifying any potential issues that were not apparent in clinical trials.
  • Understanding Underlying Mechanisms: Research into the potential biological mechanisms underlying rare adverse events, such as the role of the spike protein or vaccine components, could lead to better treatment options and potentially vaccine modifications in the future.
  • Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy: Strategies to address vaccine hesitancy and increase vaccine confidence, including accurate information dissemination and addressing individual concerns, can help improve vaccine uptake and public health outcomes.
Important Notes:
  • The vast majority of COVID-19 vaccine side effects are mild and resolve quickly.
  • The benefits of COVID-19 vaccination, such as preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death, significantly outweigh the rare risks of serious adverse events.
  • Continued research and monitoring are necessary to assess the long-term effects of vaccines and address any new safety concerns that may arise.

If you are 79, you are old enough to remember when the Democrat party was liberal, yet you cling to it even as it now represents the antithesis thereof.

The World Economic Forum thanks you for your ignorance.

I cling to the Democratic Party? Wow, you truly are misinformed and deranged. First of all, I am an Independent and have not defended the Democrats at all. What I have done, is try to get rid of the extreme bad that exists in one man (Trump) and the extremists that support him. You call that being a Democrat?....................Hahahaha
