And Now For The Correct View Of The Contemporary Presidency

1. You ignored incompetent.
I don't see Biden as incompetent but that would apply to Trump's first administration. Biden is one of the most experienced Presidents to hold office. He knew what NATO was before he took office.

I don't care how many adjectives you want to put in front of his name, he still does not inspire confidence that he would be able to even function, let alone handle, an emergency call at 3 am. We do not have agreements with other countries and Mother Nature that bad things can only happen between 10am and 4pm alternating Tuesdays.
Maybe, maybe not, but with Trump I know what I'm getting and I don't like it.

2. TRUMP! has disavowed Project 2025.
He has also endorsed it. Trump will say anything to get elected so I don't believe anything he has to say. 200 members of his administration worked on Project 2025 and I suspect many of them will serve in his next term.

Given the choice between a kindly, old man, who nonetheless has put in place polices I approve of, and a narcissistic, wannabe autocrat that has put in place polices I abhor, the choice is easy.

Wasn't it you who wanted us to vote for the polices and not the person? I guess that ends when the policies of your guy have become so unpopular. Can you say "Project 2025"?
Now, you imbecile....the choice is between disasterous leadership and this....

  • Under Trump gasoline was about $1.80 a gallon….but you voted against that
  • Under Trump we were energy independent….but you voted against that.
  • Under Trump 80% of illegal alien were kept in Mexico….but you voted against that.

No, the choice is between authoritarianism, isolationism, loss of international prestige, half-truths, lies, distortions, distractions (Trump's and yours), and Biden. Trump wants to go back in time, Biden wants to move ahead.

I don't see Biden as incompetent but that would apply to Trump's first administration. Biden is one of the most experienced Presidents to hold office. He knew what NATO was before he took office.
He knew a lot of things 20 years ago that he doesn't know now. That's irrelevant to the truth that he can't be trusted to handle emergencies that require, clear, quick, decisive leadership.
Maybe, maybe not, but with Trump I know what I'm getting and I don't like it.
And we know Quid Pro Joe and don't want him.
He has also endorsed it. Trump will say anything to get elected so I don't believe anything he has to say. 200 members of his administration worked on Project 2025 and I suspect many of them will serve in his next term.
Where has he endorsed it?

Without him behind it, it's not going very far. He's disavowed it.

"We"? Do you have a mouse in your pocket? I know you don't speak for me.

Without him behind it, it's not going very far. He's disavowed it.
And you believe him? :laughing0301: In an April 2022 speech before the Heritage Foundation – the ultra-right group behind the 922-page policy manifesto – Trump acknowledged exactly the kind of work they're doing and applauded them for “lay[ing] the groundwork” for his next administration.

Are you a doctor or a psychiatrist or are these just your opinions?
My opinions, obviously. Is it your opinion that he can really be trusted to provide strong, decisive leadership at 3 am, given the way he's been in public?
"We"? Do you have a mouse in your pocket? I know you don't speak for me.
We that oppose him remaining in office, a lot of us.

There is no reason to doubt it. What, are you claiming mindreading powers all of a sudden?

No, just a knowledge of history. How many things has Trump claimed that have turned out to be false? What reason would I have to suddenly start believing him now since he has essentially taken both sides of the 2025 debate, first he loves it, now he knows nothing about it.

Those with at least two cerebral neurons to rub together understand the premise of the OP.....that one should never vote for personalities, nor skin color, nor haircuts, etc...........

...vote only and always for the policies that better our lives and our nation.

Sometimes validation comes from unexpected sources. One of the most ignorant of posters posited the opposite ignornt, slavish points of view.

No, that wasn't the choice, that was the order from the party. Clearly Trump's policies were better for Americans, America, and the world.

Actually, he didn't say that. He said there are some things he really doesn't like about it.

Actually, he didn't say that. He said there are some things he really doesn't like about it.
How would he know there are some things he really doesn't like about it?

He has recently said “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have not seen it, have no idea who is in charge of it, and unlike our very well received Republican Platform, had nothing to do with it,” Trump claimed late Wednesday night. Trump issued his first denial of Project 2025 last Friday, declaring to closed ears, “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it.”

'Immoral': Some Republicans rebuke efforts to kill immigration deal to help Trump

The fight over an emerging border and foreign aid bill grew tense Thursday as the GOP split over whether to sink the deal to boost Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

“The border is a very important issue for Donald Trump. And the fact that he would communicate to Republican senators and Congress people that he doesn’t want us to solve the border problem — because he wants to blame Biden for it — is really appalling,” Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, told reporters.

“The American people are suffering as a result of what’s happening at the border,” he said. “And someone running for president ought to try and get the problem solved, as opposed to saying, ‘Hey, save that problem! Don’t solve it! Let me take credit for solving it later.’”

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., urged his colleagues not to make it all about politics at the behest of another candidate.

“I didn’t come here to have the president as a boss or a candidate as a boss. I came here to pass good, solid policy," Tillis said. “It is immoral for me to think you looked the other way because you think this is the linchpin for President Trump to win.”

Their comments came one day after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in a private GOP meeting, outlined the political difficulties facing the emerging deal on immigration and foreign aid, including opposition from Trump as he cruises to the Republican presidential nomination. The belief among some conservatives is that preventing an agreement will cause voters to blame President Joe Biden for a chaotic situation at the border, even though he has endorsed the negotiations.
