While in Tuscany we had several Chiantis from Castello Il Palaggio and it's available online for about $20. Highly recommended, especially the Reserves
I also found in my local liquor store a 2005 Reserve from Tomiaolo that was around $22 and was absolutely wonderful!
Fava beans and a census takers liver optional.
Oh, also in the book instead of a "nice Chianti" it's a "big Amarone" but Amarone is more of a connoisseurs wine and the movies made Chianti seem like a lowbrow bottle best suited for holding a candle in the middle of a dining table wine. It's not. Try these, you'll see.
