"An Undocumented Immigrant is Not a Criminal"

Meanwhile, back in reality, merely being an undocumented alien ... is not a crime.

Trump cultists, the law doesn't care about your feelings.
Being an illegal alien may not be a felony - yet - but is should be

And can be with just a tweak of the criminal code

Will half the population blindly follow as long as there's a "D" with the name? Of course they will
If ANY Democrat will stand up to this, let him speak now.

When your first act in our land is to break one of our laws, yeah: you’re a criminal.

Entering the United States without permission and illegally is a crime.

Illegally crossing the border is a misdemeanor, not a felony. And it’s not a crime, if you enter and claim asylum immediately.

You have to be standing on US soil to claim asylum. You can’t do it from Mexico.

You’ve drunk every bit of Republican Kool-Aid on “illegal immigrants”, and gone back for seconds.

Trump EMPLOYS illegal immigrants. He’s the reason illegal immigration goes up every time a Republican is in the White House because they don’t punish guys like him.

They had a bill that was stronger than ANYTHING Trump proposed, and Trump killed it. Why??? So he could run on “illegal immigration”.

Republican have been refusing to fix the system since Reagan was in office. They can use it for votes.

And you’re the fish they’re reeling in with their lies about immigrants. O

Actually, not true. The UNHCR runs many processing centers for asylum seekers around the world. People seeking asylum from their home country have their claim assessed there and if deemed a legitimate refugee, they are assigned a country of repatriation by the UNHCR according to quotas agree to by the receiving nations.

None of those processing centers are in the USA.

That’s the United Nations. Not the US government. US law requires you to stand on US soil to claim asylum.

Be honest. When was the last time the USA accepted asylum seekers through the UN? Republicans opposed letting Afghans fleeing the Taliban reprisals into the USA when you pulled out of Afghanistan.

Republicans have so poisoned their base against immigrants that they won’t let anyone in who isn’t white.

I noted that Ukrainians were welcomed.

Again, untrue. We took in more than 60,000 UNHCR refugees in 2023. All processed initially at UNHCR facilities offshore.

This has been the official process for determining refugee status for nearly 30 years since the US signed on in the 1990s.

Of course, those without a legit claim to refugee status typically elect to cut the line and enter the country illegally to make up a refugee plea and that IS illegal under US law.
