Conservatives are constantly touting your interpretations of the Founding Fathers‭’ ‬intents.

Your many interpretations of the U.S.‭ ‬Constitution‭ ‬always‭ ‬miss the mark,‭ ‬as you insist on putting a conservative spin on your interpretations.

What conservatives forget about colonial history is the Tories‭’ ‬strong opposition to any form of revolution against the British Crown.‭ ‬They must also forget the Tories were the conservatives of that era.

So,‭ ‬as much as the insurrectionists involved the January‭ ‬6th attack on the Capitol hate liberals,‭ ‬progressives,‭ ‬their principles,‭ ‬and their policies,‭ ‬it will be the liberalism of the Founding Fathers that prevents the convictions of some participants.

The liberalism of Framers of the Constitution included the Sixth Amendment,‭ ‬which provides the defendant the right to an impartial jury.‭ ‬So,‭ ‬regardless of the evidence presented by prosecutors in the coming trials of the insurgents,‭ ‬all a defendant needs is one juror sympathetic to their cause to hang the jury and force a mistrial.‭ ‬It will then be left to the prosecutor to decide whether to retry the accused or not continue to pursue the case and release the accused from custody.

Some,‭ ‬or possibly all,‭ ‬of the insurgents,‭ ‬even those shown on television tearing apart the Capitol,‭ ‬could very well join the ranks of the conservative-hated-scum the liberal court system was unable to punish for their crime(s‭)‬.

Yes,‭ ‬the Founding Fathers were liberals.‭ ‬The Preamble to the Constitution many of us memorized in elementary school includes the words‭ "‬we‭"‬,‭ "‬us‭"‬,‭ "‬our‭"‬,‭ "‬general welfare‭"‬,‭ ‬and‭ "‬establishment of justice‭"‬,‭ ‬all are fundamentally liberal concepts.‭

When considering the era in which the Constitution was written,‭ ‬the extremely liberal principles offered by the Framers provided a blueprint for establishing a federal government inclusive of all citizens and focused on enhancing the common good.

Did you write that garbage? If so, what English class did you ever complete? By the way, virtually all democrats and many republicans have participated in a coup for over 4 years against the USA and our President. But Obama's FBI don't play dat. The Obama FBI is quite aggressive with America First folks though, the Antifata who participated in the Civil Rights rally who entered the Capital Building with the help of the Capital police notwithstanding.

That is, indeed, the RWNJs' spin, but it's the insurgents/rioters from January 6th facing trials.

So, you should address your b!tiching to the appropriate prosecutors' offices. No one on these message boards can help you.

Ridiculous, but unsurprising, really—in this day and Age. Historical revisionism at its least efficacious. You want to know about a leftist revolution? Read to your heart's content about the events that transpired in France between 1789-1799. Liberalism is not what you think it is, apparently. Nor are modern democratic party leaders liberals. The French ideological reaction to The Enlightenment was to eradicate the Church and God from government, while the American Colonial reaction and subsequent revolution was a step closer to God. In fact, the very foundational bones of our Constitution spring forth from deep belief in God. The thing that you believe to be liberalism, which is not, despises God.

Liberals are not direct action activists, nor are they radicalized, nor godless. No true liberal, who believes in change through reform, rather than revolution, could possibly have participated in either the American Revolution or approved of the BLM/Antifa/NFAC riots of 2020. True liberals do not terrorize people in their homes, approve of the mass murder of the unborn or initiate mass looting and arson. No, it is the author of your article who has it wrong; has it backward.

Further, any movement which departs from the strict traditional norm, peacefully, could be classifiable as liberal. Even a slightly less conservative group within a larger staunch conservative party could be deemed "liberal".

No, what you're trying (and failing) to do here, in this thread, is to equate modern democratic party leaders and their anti-American ideology to the Founders of our great nation and their intent and belief. That is patently ludicrous. Do you really believe our Founding Fathers would have approved of elective abortion, homosexual marriage, transgender mutilation of children, election fraud, atheism, critical race theory or any other modern democratic party ideological platform? If so you are out of your fucking mind.

I despise any and all who attempt to revise American history for modern day gain of any kind. Those who attempt it are lower than the lowest scum.

That reinterpretation of Colonial history must be the history taught in church schools.

The separation of church and state was a wise decision by the Founding Fathers. If not, the Revolutionary War history of today would state it had been fought, and won, comically, by Christians in white robes carrying only religious crosses.

The British armies... would have mowed them down.

I thought the Founding Fathers were all a bunch of slave owning bigots and white supremacists?

Now they were like modern day “liberals”?

That is rich. You liberals are also quick to remind US that the US Constitution is flawed because the Founding Framers were white, male slaveholding landowners. You even tear down abs deface statues of these framers. The event at the Capitol was not a coup, it was a protest turned violent by a subset of extremists who felt an injustice occurred; which, if you paid attention in 2020, we saw that many times. This is not an excuse or justification, but an assessment.

such as free speech and religion

two things that are poison to modern liberals

or did they believe in a dictatorship of the judiciary that forces abortion, gay marriage and men peeing in the womens restroom

The BLM protests/riots were driven by social injustice. The Capitol riots were driven by a desire to steal an election for Dear Leader. Can you see the difference?

It's odd, the RWNJ to which you're responding doesn't realize the liberal Framers included the Bill of Rights to protect the freedom of speech and religion. But you should note, he ignored the freedom of the press clause. It must be due to today's press exposing the rampant corruption in the weasel-in-chief's administration.

(Only a weasel would throw the insurgents he sent to the Capitol to attempt his coup, under the bus by blaming them for everything, AND saying they should be severely punished.)

The OP was intended to provide an uplifting message to the insurgents/rioters‭, their friends and families, and the RWNJs that support their righteous(?) cause.

It is, after all, the liberal Founding Fathers who provided the right to an impartial jury, which opens the door to jurors biased in favor of the crime committed by the defendant. So, a mistrial should be expected for most of the insurgents/rioters.

This unwritten access by biased jurors would never have been permitted had the Constitution been created by conservatives. The addition of a jury to any trial would have been unlikely had conservatives been heavily involved in the creation of the Constitution. The judge would make all decisions regarding verdict and sentencing, and executions would be immediate. NO appeals.

(Only a weasel would throw the insurgents he sent to the Capitol to attempt his coup, under the bus by blaming them for everything, AND saying they should be severely punished.)
