An Old, Old Tactic By the GOP

Except for trump’s obvious age and increasing dementia, since Biden withdrew from the race a nominee’s age (and mental clarity) has become irrelevant (though, it should not). During this period of indecision by Party strategists on how to campaign against Kamala Harris, trump, in his own way, has taken a page from a long-standing Republican blueprint. He is attacking Harris for being bi-racial. Such attacks are certain to impress his devoted followers.

Looking back at the GOP’s history, the Party’s Southern Strategy was developed in the 1960s and relied on conservatives' innate racial and ethnic hatreds. Since then, the Republican Party has nurtured and exploited right-wingers’ proclivity for racism, bigotry, homophobia, xenophobia, misogyny, etc. Beginning in 2015, trump deftly took the Republicans’ own Southern Strategy to levels unseen before.

“Media Matters for America writer Eric Kleefeld wrote: ‘The Republican Party is now officially running on a campaign that you can’t trust biracial people.’” Kleefeld must be very young if he believes this is something new for the GOP.

It is a desperate attempt to convince Black voters that she isn't black similar to the attempt to convince voters that Obama wasn't born in the US. Republicans simply have not been able to create a campaign strategy for Harris. When Biden was the target the strategy was to convince voters that he was responsible for inflation, problems at the border, and was too old. Age was the most effective.

However, Age won't work with Harris and trying to hang inflation and immigration on Harris is a hard sell but convincing voters that she should not be president because she claims to be black will be even harder.

This is what happens when a group of people grow up oblivious to the reality that went on around them. When it is shown that America has lost 51 TRILLION dollars since 1990 because of racism and yet you IDIOTS keep tallking about government spending as the problem, it shows that the right is full of clueless people who cannot see reality.

Our debt is 35 trillion. Had it not been for racism, we'd have no debt. The problem is not the government. The problem is our society.

You and I are not only on the same page but not even in the same book. For example, liberals think the way to better health is better health care. Conservatives believe that the way to better health is taking care of your health. This is a monumental difference. The question is which is the real 'reality'. Can we drug and operate our way to better health, or do we need to know how to live a healthy lifestyle?

Did you know that even while proclaiming that tobacco products are harmful to health the government continues to use their sales as a revenue stream. Same with alcohol, and lately with pot. Liberal policies, whether enacted by Dems or Repubs have monetized our problems instead of looking for solutions. If a Republican supports a liberal policy, he or she is no longer a conservative. That's another reality.

The fact that conservatives are healthier (mentally and physically) and happier than liberals should probably be examined more closely. Maybe half the country is missing something.

Trump criticized Harris for selling herself as Asian, and then when it was politically expedient for her to do so, sold herself as Black.

“She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?” the former president said. “I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way, and then all of a sudden she made a turn and she went – she became a Black person,”
