Just to add some significant info, small business employ by far the vast majority of people in the nation. Not large corporations.
You seem to be living in the past. That used to be true, but is no longer the case. Small businesses account for 55% of all jobs, many of those including the self employed with no employees. Yes, that's a majority, strictly speaking (I don't know the figures, but I would wager that removing the self employed would bring that number below 50%) but it's certainly not a "vast majority." The US is no longer a small business economy, it is a large corporate economy. That is the root cause of the majority of the problems that people on both sides of the aisle complain about. It's funny how Republicans often talk about too many regulations getting in the way of people starting their own businesses, but when given a chance they don't bother with the regulations that interfere with creating new businesses. They always go after the regulations that are a problem for big businesses that want to squeeze another half cent per piece.
Democrats complain about income inequality and too much money funneling to the top? It isn't the CEO of Ma and Pa's cupcakes raking it in. We need to return to our small business focus. Regulate the big guys, and give wide latitude to people who want to start their own businesses.
