They were herded by the cops towards the capitol. Those sought shelter inside the much warmer capitol building.

Why is Code Pink allowed inside? They protest all the time. Why did a congressman protest inside the House chambers? Was it because he is a democrat? Trump was president on January 6 of the day in question so the public at the Capitol supported the president and only were three thanks to Democrats treatment of the president.
