Amid abortion battle, DeSantis vetoes birth-control funding – again

If that's the way you feel why don't you make charitable contributions to Planned Parenthood?

Gimme free everything or else!!!!
so medicaid should not cover child birth? Or if it should, why shouldn't a lower cost altermative in contraception be covered? Or perhaps you think neither should be. IF that's the case, at least you'd be consistent.

but ray fails to see the taxpayers are already responsible for the cost of child birth. And for that, DeSantis is "A-OK" LOL

Right, and we should be responsible because some bimbo won't spend the twenty bucks a month for pills or the few bucks a month to make sure the male is protected. She certainly can't stop having sex, why, that would be too much of taxpayers to ask for.

The latter is what I think. You had unprotected sex, you pay for the child. You provide them with food, clothing, medical care and shelter. That's what I feel. And if you can't provide these things, then don't have a child or risk having a child.

You said that, but doing so is illegal. Thus we need to find other ways to reduce their number. The best way is to reduce the number of pregnancies.
How about this, you sanctimonious bitch. Instead of birth control, how about forced tubal ligations. Instead of multiple taxpayer funded abortions, the first one is free accompanied by a required hysterectomy. That takes care of taxpayer responsibility and there will be no more pregnancies for those too irresponsible to make life changing decisions.

Not a fan of PP. But I do help support a crisis pregnancy center.

For some of us abortion is a big deal.

For others it is not

That is an evasive procedure that is very expensive. Birth control is cheap and efficient, especially the kind cut out of the budget.

The tax payer should not pay for even the first abortion.

‘When Gov. Ron DeSantis slashed $3 billion from the state’s budget Thursday, one ill-fated item sounded familiar: Just as he did last year, DeSantis vetoed $2 million meant to help low-income people access long-acting birth control.

It was again Senate President Wilton Simpson, a Pasco County Republican, who included it in the $110 billion budget. Unlike last year, though, this veto landed amid a national reckoning on reproductive rights. It came weeks after a leaked Supreme Court opinion suggested the Court will overturn Roe v. Wade, and less than a month before Florida’s new 15-week abortion ban goes into effect.

Stephanie Fraim, the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida — which includes the organization’s Tampa Bay-area clinics — questioned the rationale for the veto.

“Funding for this sensible investment in the health of our communities enjoys rare bipartisan support,” she said in an emailed statement. “And, thanks to President Biden, the Legislature was able to pass a balanced budget with plenty of money left in reserves. To take away health care from vulnerable people is just another example of his ongoing cruelty to Floridians.”’

DeSantis is not alone among Republicans capable of such cruelty.
cruelty?

Is it more cruel than mutilating and murdering helpless children in the womb... as your party always wants to do?

hmmmm... I guess we need to think about this for awhile... tough one

Deflection and contradiction noted. Answer the question--should we require forced sterilization for those irresponsible people?

Your "solutions" are childish and just plain ignorant. No court in the land is going to approve of forced sterilization for those irresponsible people. You do not really want to reduce abortions, you just want to stand on a soapbox and show the world how amazing you are.

Birth control reduces pregnancies which reduces abortions. Over the last 30 plus years the rate of abortion per pregnancy has stayed pretty constant. Providing birth control in any way helps to reduce abortion, but you do not give a fuck about the baby in the womb, all you care about is your soapbox.

You are in for a rude fucking awakening on judgement day.
