Or has China upped their game drastically? It seems strange in an economic sense that the Cartels would be trying to kill off their customers unless there was a reward for them coming from somewhere else. The Cartels are all about the money, China has other motives.

Did we steal the resources from anyone? No. At worst we overpaid for their crap. China would just strip mine. Everything goes to China. Look at what they are doing in Africa. Look at what they are doing here. They bought up farmland but everything grown is sent to China. To the Chinese there are two kinds of people in the world, Chinese and their slaves.
