No one can afford to be isolationist and survive. Which means compromise. The problem is they are dealing with a situation that is ancient, archaic, and has not yet been impacted by changing times.

the thing that is really annoying the israel-haters is that israel is actually pretty ok right now. they don't need a peace deal to thrive like the pals do. so my feeling is talk to them. they'll walk away from the table like arafat did. but no one will be able to fault israel for it. so maybe that shuts up the people who really do only want to see peace. And that reminds me of a point I meant to bring up before with your comment on Rabin. During his tenure, Israel was under pressure to fit in more globally. They were an expanding manufacturing base looking for export markets. I think they were pressured externally, the US in large part, to compromise for global acceptance. Be the bigger man type deal. Well today, to your latest point, they are beyond that hurdle and do need peace much less than the Palestinians. Arafat could aford to walk away because Arafat ws really more about Arafat, than a cause. He was well funded and taken care of regardless. I think he was corrupted by the money and what it brought to him. And taking a hard line made him look like more of a hero on top of it.

Publius 1787, I understand why Milton Friedman noted that jews thrived in competitive countries most in instututions such as retailing, entertainment, etc, but not in governmentally-influenced concerns. And that the jews who may have benefited the most from Capitalism paradoxically have contributed much to undermine the intellectual bases for capitalism. I wonder if Milton Friedman forgot about Mr. Solomon, the Jew who raised enough money for the Constitutional Congress to foot the bill for the American Revolution?

Some of us haven't forgotten this key point in our existence of the one country in the world who led the intellectual battle for individual freedoms elucidated in the Bill of Rights. We're the country of the little guy having the same opportunity as the big guys, and we are indebted for all of this to a jew. That's why if I stay here, I'll be there with the facts of our very American existance because of a very generous man who gave all he had and got others to likewise support the American Revolution to win freedom and local say-so over our own future well-being, which we were not getting from King Lard Bottom George who snubbed Americans seeking representation for American needs. All that tax money was going to King George, but he treated Americans like he would treat prisoners in his own jails with no notice whatever, and that just wasn't fair at all to the American people who were more or less forced to get the worst imaginable deals from the Royal Crown of Thorns in Britain.

Some people will see your video and think in their minds, even a Jew is dissing other Jews for their bads. We all have them. But we need to remember the good, silver lining the Jews have made for themselves over here--for better or for worse, when the chips were down, a Jew stepped in and saved America at liberty's birth.
