Allstate commercial Edith Piaf

Maybe it's me but the naisily voice singing in French grates on my ears. Why Allstate would feature the voice of a dead French alcoholic singer who may or may not have collaborated with the Nazis during WW2 is anybody's guess.

I find the Allstate commercial to be weird and annoying. The voice in French gives me the creeps. Doesn't it offend Piaf fans that a 21st century insurance conglomerate would use her voice to sell car insurance?

Even when I'm gone....I will appreciate her songs up there in the sky

When you think about it it seems that the songs in ads reflect the generation the product in targeted at. Stones and Beatles would reflect a certain generation who have matured and are presumably comfortable enough to purchase high ticket items. What the hell targeted generation is a French chanteuse who was born before the 1st World War? Somebody who collects old records?
